Frozen Ment Report.

Ni-'lson" Bros, report under date London, August 0 :— - The demand for frozen mutton has fallen oti" a good deal since the date of our last circular. The weather has at times been very oppressive, and the usual exodus from London has taken place, which always has a marked effect upon the local demand. Our last quotation was 5d to sjd per lb, but as supplies came in consignees rather pressed sales, and values consequently dropped to from 4M to sd, but the market now shows rather a tinner tone, good slieep making from 5d to ojd per lb. English killed meat has been in shorter supply, and realised higher prices. Frozen Limb is still scarce, and is nominally worth 7od to 8d per lb. English lamb has made !>d and il^d per lb, so the margin between the two is not very great. Sydney sheep were freely offered at from 4d to 4id per lb, at whicli price they were cheap compared with tlie relative value of other mutton. River Plate sheep. — Best qualities have been making up to 4.> d per lb, the ordinary kind from 4d to 4kl per lb. For the moment ample supplies are on offer. Frozen beef. — The demand has boen very irregular, dependent almost entirely on the supplies of American in the market. Values have not fluctuated very much, 3s being about the average for hinds, and from 2s to 2s 2d for fores. Stocks in frozen mutton continue very light, a very satisfactory point in the tvatle. _______________________________
