Education Boards Short of Funds

At the Education Board to-day a resolution that application be made to Ministers at the earliest possible date, when the building grant will be allocated, as the Board's amount is overdrawn L2OOO, with no money for necessary repairs. Many schools are falling to pieces for want of repairs, and there is no money in hand to srect schools where urgently needed. All demands from school connnitteesformoney ivere postponed pending Ministers' reply. Many children are unable to be admitted :o the schools for want of room. At a meeting of the Sydenham Borough Council last night, the Mayor said the iccommodation at the Sydenham district school was far from satisfactory. One Kindred and thirty children had been crowded out that day. The Board of Education say they have no money for a lew building. Tt was decided to write to ,ho Minister for Education.
