Explosion in a Theatre
Dunedin, to-day.
Just after the theatre performance had begun last night a loud explosion occurred in the vicinity of Manse street. It turned out that Mr Graham. Bland Holt's manager, while adjusting aij india-rubber tube connected with a cistern for carrying to the stage for lime - light j>urp.oses, inadvertently brought a lighted candle in contact with the gas. Mr Graluun was thrown tq the ro^f, a distance of 18 feet. Except a few flesh wounds and wounded kg he i.« uninjured, while his assistant escaped slightly singed.
