Auckland Live Stock Market.

Tin-: following is Messrs Hunter and Nolan's weekly report : —

Horses : In average supply, and an improved demand existed. There remained an unsatisfied enquiry for those of a good stamp", and purchasers were forthcoming at fully previous week's values. About the usual number were submitted by auction on Friday. At the Durham Yards bidding was fairly brisk throughout, and most of the lots were cleared, although but few strangers put in an appearance. We quote hacks from L 5 10s to Lll ; light harness and medium draught, L 5 10s to LHi.

Wool, hides, skins, etc. : Average quantities met steady demands at the Durham store on Tuesday, and the previous week's values were maintained. We quote ox hides from 2^d to 4i!d, cows 2d to 2gd per lb, calf skins 2kl to 4.|d per lb, sheep skins 2s to 6s 4d each, wool in bags 7;^d to B]d per lb. Cattle : A steady demand existed for fat and store stock, with little or no alteration in value, there being sufficient of all descriptions for requirements. Average numbers were yarded both at N ewmarket and Pukekohe. Dairy cows were in slack demand, but stores and fat beasts were well competed for at the previous week's values. Some averages of fat steers were L 7 17 Od, L 7 3s 6tl, LG 18s (id, L 6 14s, L 6 , 5s fid, Lb 2s 6d, L 5 15s, Lo 7s <sd, L 5 ; cows, L 5, L 4 7s (sd, L 4 2s <id, L 3 los, L 3 2s (id.

Sheep : Less than usual were yarded at Newmarket on Tuesday, although well competed for. Wethers at from 13s 6d to 17s 9d ; ewes, 13s 6d to los f)d ; mixed, 15s 3d to 17s ; spring lambs, 13s 3d to 14s.

Pigs were in moderate numbers, and a good demand at from 2kl to 3d per lb live weight.
