[Pkr Press Association. — '"oi'vuiuirrj ! WELLINGTON", To-day. His Excellency the Governor and Secretary returned from Nelson to-day. The Tainui was to have sailed from London on August 7th inst., and is therefore due in the colony on Oct. 20th. A slip occurred on the WellingtonMasterton Railway line near the summit yesterday. Three thousand cubic feet fell. Trains run as far as the obstruction and exchange passengers. DUNEDIN", To-day. A large comet was visible in the Queenstown district last night. The position is different to any seen before, being perpendicular. It appears in a north- westerly direction from Arrowtown.
