THE VIGILANCE COMMITEE
Mr W. K. Chambers, Chairman of the late Vigilance Committee, has received the following letter from Capt. Winter, the officer commanding the Eaat Coast Hussars : — Sii*,— l have the honor to acknowledge receipt of letter from the Vigilance Committee, enclosing the sum of L 8 ]?>s 9d. I have on behalf of the East Coast Hussars to tender you their sincere thanks for the welcome Addition to their funds, and for the kindly expression of appreciation contained in your letter. I feel that I cannot let this opportunity pass without thanking your committee for the prompt and valuable assistance given by you to the troop under my command, on any occasion when such assistance was urgently required, as there can be no doubt that had it not been for the vigorous steps taken by your committee serious consequences would have resulted.
