♦ [Per Press Association — Copyright.] WELLINGTON, Today. The police made •<« raid on a Chinese gambling den last night. Fifty Chinese were discovered playing fan- tan, and arrested. The occupier of the premises and his assistant were charged with the offence at
the R. M. Court aud remanded. The barque Arnold Von Rippen, 646 tons, Captain Moeller, was brought in at 9.30 thia morning. She left New York on Nov. 20th, and has had an uneventful passage. She has a part of her cargo for Auckland. The salmon and trout ova on board the Aorangi arrived in good condition. It has been decided to send the whole of the ova to Port Chalmers by the Aorangi on Wednesday. The Aorangi brought out a fine draught entire horse of the breed known as Suffolk Punch for Mr J. A. Williams, of Hawke'a Bay. The animal was valued at £500 in England. AUOK' AND, To-day. Sergeant Parslow, Rifle Champion, is to be accorded a public reception on his return to Auckland on Wednesday.
