The Sydney Daily Telegraph, in the course of an article this morning, referring to the Now Zealand Exhibition to be held at Dunedin, saysjt is full time the Government of New South Wales failed a halt on tlie expenditure in connection with exhibitions. As the Exhibition to be held at Dunedin is purely a business affair, it is unlikely New South Wales will reap any commercial advantage therefrom. Now South Wales, the article proceeds, is New Zealand's beat customer, yet the latter's treatment of thia colony by the deliberate exclusion of its only export — coal— showed that in the near future that article is pretty certain to be shut out of New Zealand altogether in favor of Westport or Russell coal. The Telegraph expresses a hope that the Government of , New South Wales will decline to be officially represented at the Exhibition to be held at Dunedin. Tha Government have received communi* •ation from M. Pasteur declining to permit his representatives lo vaccinate sheep as a precaution against anthrax unless the Government allow his recent experiments iv the extermination of rabbits to be dealt with on their merits.
