. 4» . Timaku, to-day. In the Hall case Mrs Newton was examined, and said that from the end of November till the end of January Hall was a constant visitor at Woodlands. Hail would remain with Captain Cain 10 minutes or co, and she thought no persons were present on those occasions. He sat up with the Captain all night on two occasions. Cain gave up drinking whisky because it made him sick, and remarked that it was strange that he should have drank whisky for so many years ant that now it should make him sick.
