[Reciter's Telegram.] MELBOURNE, Nov. 13. Messrs. C. S. R033 and Co., of this city, report the sale of a cargo of kauri timber, ex Stanley. The following were the average prices, per 100 feet -.—Superior hewn logs, lla 6d; sawn flitches, 14s 6d ; sawn boards, one inch, 20s 3d ; ditto, 1£ to 3 inch, 20s. The market is depressed. Tho Melbourne manager of the National Mortgage Agency Company of New Zealand (Limited) reports the local grain markets as follows :— Wheat, 4a 3d to 4a 4d ; there is more demand and a slight improvement. Malting barley, 4s to 5s ; prices nominal. New Zealand- oats are in fair demand at 2a 9d to 3a ; feeding, 3s Id to 3s 2d. Millin;; sorts of New Zealand oats, under bond, are slow of sale, at 2s to 2s 4d. it is doubtful whether Knowles, tho selfconvicted murderer of Bates, the actor, is sane.
