Mr. Monteith reports the following prices realised for good souud horses : — Heavy draught; £45 to £50 ; medium, £30 to £35 ; light harness horses, £15 to £13 ; weight-carrying hacks, £20 ; medium do., £12 to £14 ; light do., £6 to £8 ; needy and inferior, dull of sale at nominal figures. Boutledge, Kennedy, and Co. report that at the sale of cattle on Wednesday, at the Shamrock Sale Yards, there was a very fair attendance of buyers, and very satisfactory prices were released :—Twoyear old steers, average, £6 each ; eighteenmonth steers, average, £4 each ; three-year old steers, average, £8 5s each ; eighteenmonth heifers, average £4 15s ; cows, from £7 to £8 10s, Auckland, July 7. Mr. BIKNEY quotes— Flour, £11 ; some , local mills tried, unsuccessfully, to advance £1, m face of the large stock of Southern brand j pollard, £G 10s : bran, £5 10s ; oatmeal, £15 10s ; pearl barley, £28 j oats 2s Bd, glutted market, likely to continue ; large arrivals of maize — 4000 bags from Fiji 1000 from Sydney, and 2000 per mail steamer j good butter m demand at lOd to Is; cheese, 7 " pence; potatoes, £5 10s; onions, 2d ; hams and bacon, market bare, 9M to 9d. Mr. Bucklaa'D quotes — Fat cattle averaged 30a, though prices fell towards he close of the sale ; sheep, steady at 2£d.
