The time of sailing of the Southern Cross is alteredjto noon to-morrow, when she will leave for Napier and the South, She left Auckland last night at 9 o'clock, and may be expected soon after daylight to-morrow morning.

The Union Company have purchased from the Oamaru and Dunedin Steam Company the 8.8. Waitakio. She will run between Tauranga and Russell. The abore steamer was built to compete with the railway between Oamaru and Dnnediri, and is therefore a fast boat, and has superior passenger accommodation. She is about the same tonnage aud appearauce as the Wanaka.
