ALTON HALL
ANNUAL MEETIN G The annual meeting of the Alton Hall Committee was held last week, Mr H. Sutherland presiding. The minutes of the previous annual meeting were read and confirmed. The report stated that the Hall had been re-painted, and the lights overhauled. Everything was in first-class order.
The balance sheet, which showed an o\crdraft of £SO, was also read. The report and balance sheet were adopted.
Votes of thanks wore accorded Mrs Proffitt' and Mr Picrccy for assistance rendered during the year. The following committee was elected: Messrs Sutherland (chairman), Davis (secretary), Piercey, Gush, H. Palmer, Neilson and A. J. Gibbs.
Mr W. A. Allen was appointed auditor.
It was unanimously resolved that a series of euchre parties and dances be held during the winter months, to reduce the overdraft.
The meeting closed with a hearty vote of thanks to the outgoing committee and the chair.
