Svdney, May 30. The German barque Elbeck, bound from Melbourne to Newcastle, was towed to Sydney dismasted. During the gale the ballast shifted, and the vessel heeled over seventy degrees, necessitating the cutting awa}' of tho masts. The crew worked heroically and accomplished the difficult task. After the vessel righted, she drifted about eight days till she was picked up by a tug.
