PATEA SCHOOL COMMITTEE.
The above committee held its usual meeting last evening in the Borough Chambers, when there were present— Messrs E. A. Adams (chair), Brown, Haraerton, Hogan and McKenna. Minutes of former meeting read and confirmed. Correspondence for month, outwards comprising twenty one letters and telegrams and inwards comprising twenty eight, was read and dealt with. On the motion of Mr T. E. Hamerton, seconded by Mr Adams, it was resolved, “ That the thanks of the- committee be conveyed to Mr Saxton (Traffic Manager), Mr Glenuy (Stationmaster), and Mr S. H. Drew (Curator of til? Wanganui Museum) for their great kindness in meeting and assisting this committee in securing the perfect success of the late school excursion.” Referring to the Board’s notice re appointment of auditor, it was resolved •'That the secretary of the Education Board he requested to audit the committee’s accounts as usual.”
The head teacher sent an open letter to the Board of Education and requested the committee to forward same with or without resolved «Tfcat this committee forward the headteacher’s letter, and while fully endorsing the statements therein contained, strongly recommend the requisition to the favourable consideration of tlje Board,” The headteacher’s report was received, read and adopted, and the secretary was instructed to forward the necessary requisition to the Board, and to procure the other articles named for the use of the school, hjv s . account for nine weeks’ caretajdng to 30th March was passed for payment, and the committee adjourned to tho 22»0 instant.
