NEW KIND OF PLEURO.

Am. the Ministers have been indisposed. They arc not yet convalescent. An infections malady has been going round the charmed circle, and has had the peculiar effect of depriving each and every Minister of the po.ver of speech. Not one of them is yet in a condition to exercise the vocal organ with that mellifluous eloquence which captivates mobs, and delights cultured assemblies. The whole country sutlers under this painful Ministerial silence. Our own district is unfortunate in a special degree, for if any one Minister has it in his power to delight his constituents in a special degree, that one is Major Atkinson. The depth of our disappointment is proportioned to the height and breadth ol the boon wo miss ? Patca district asks for a speech in re the coming session, and the Egmont member straightway contracts bronchitis. Ho has had bronchitis every lime a speech lias been asked for in this district. It is said that there have been nine occasions on which the Egmont member was asked to say something of, to, for, or about the Patca district, and nine times did bronchitis prostrate him at the critical moment. This political bronchitis is too Taranaki altogether. All the members of the Ministry seem to have bad bronchitis together. It is a kind of plnro-bronchilis; once in the herd it prostrates every member. When an election comes round, and soft illusive, speeches have to bo made, will Major Atkinson allow bronchitis to stand in the way ? If bronchitis troubles him this week, is it to disable him also the next, and the next ? This interesting malady is about played out. When all the Ministers catch bronchitis, and remain silent through the whole Recess, people begin to regard bronchitis as a new feature in Ministerial policy.
