LABOUR PARTY BRANCH
FAREWEIXS SOLDIER The local branch of the New Zealand Labour Party tendered a fareveil* social in the Oddfellows' Hall la-st evening to a member. LanceCorporal C. N. Jensen. There was ai, excellent attendance of members and friends and a most friendly and sociable evening was enioyed by those present. After a tasty supper had been served. Mr O. TT. Cottor. who was a capable M.C., called upon the president of the branch. Mr G. Ancell, to make a presentation on behalf of the members to the guest of the evening. Mr Ancell conveyed the best wishes of the branch to the recipient in his venture overseas. L-Cpl. Jensen had proved his as a member of the branch executive. and had reflects his keen interest in attending a recent meeting in uniform while on leave. Best wishes were conveyed to Airs Jensen and family and it was hoped that the great would shortly he back again safe and sound. Mr Ancell apologised for the absence of Mr S. J. Judd, who was* unable to be present. Dance music was supplied by M* M Tataurangi rnd extras w given by Mr K. Braddick. A M* Carlo dance was won by M* Mrs L. R. Neil, and a Spot by Mr Her«derso n anti Miss Tterns were contributed Goodin. Mrs Goodin Mr Miss Udy. Mr An cel 1 performers and all tb their support.
