PAHIATUA STOCK SALE
• REVIEW OF PRICES. Th© Associated Auctioneers rei>ort as follows on the Pahiatua sale at the stockyards on Tuesday of this week: The only entries in the cattle section were a few pens of weauer Jersey heifers, well-grown and of good quality, which met with a ready sale at good values. Pigs depreciated in sympathy with the recent Government announcement with reference to pork and bacon prices, but a clearance was made at auction.
Good hacks sold well but draughts were not in demand. The majority of liens of fat wethers contained a few sheep that would not hang up and this had a tendency to restrict butchers a little in their prices, most pens however, being sold at fair market values. In keeping with other centres 2th ewes are not in demand and several pens of fair quality failed tc ream values and were passed. Older ewes Of good quality, however, sold quite well.
