DISEASE IN WHEAT
INCIDENCE IN ASHBURTON. Take-ail has made its appearance m some wheat crops in the Ashburton County this season for the first time in about six years The disease has been discovered in some crops in the northern area of the county, and although it is evident in several paddocks, the crops liava not been affected unduly up to the present. On the other hand, it is early yet to indicate to what extent it may develop, says the Christchurch Press.
