Lady Tedder was killed, in an air crash west of Cairo wjiiile returning from a tour oi welfare centre** and hospitals in Cyrenaioa. Slie and Chief Air Marshal Tedder were about to return to Britain. The plane wherein Lady • Tedder was returning from Benghazi. era-shed late yesterday afternoon and there v ere no survivors. Lady Tedder- arrived in Cairo* last June and devoted her energies to the welfare of the men under her husband’s command by regularly visiting hospitals and welfare centres. An* Marshal Tedder cancelled a farewell meeting with pressmen and proceeded to tlTe crash.
