BOMBS ON ISLAND OF WIGHT
RAIDERS OVER ENGLAND CONSIDERABLE R AT. ACTIVITY FRANCE AM) HOLLAND ATTACKED. (Received 10.50 a.m.» (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY. Jan. 3. It was officially stated this afternoon that a few enemy aircraft dropped bombs on the Isle of Wight, some damage was done and there were casualties, some proving fatal. Bombs were also dropped at a place on the south-east coast of England but little damage was caused and no one seriously injured There has been considerable activity by the R.A.F. over the Channel, heavy bombers escorted by fighters attacking docks at St Nazaire An Air Ministry communique states t-liat Mosquitos bombed railway targets in northern France and Fighter Command aircraft bombed docks at Bruges. One aircraft attacked an aiifield in Holland and none of oar aircraft is missing.
