FOR TO-MORROW NIGHT’S DANCE. The Pahiatua Patriotic Entertainers are working hard to make the New Year 8 Eve dance a success. The hall on this occasion will not be as gaily decorated as on former occasions, but will be In keeping with the New Year festivities. The ladies’ committee under Mrs Merri© are energetically making carnival hats. The M.’sC. are seeking novelties, for young and old alike. It would be appreciated if the public could make the ball an occasion for jubiliation. to stamp out the old year with its memories, and to usher in the New Year with sincere hopes that it will bring Victory and Peace. Let us all join hands together in* this movement of unity for Victory. Th© occasion will be marked by a presentation to 12 members of the Armed Forces, Sgts. Hutchion and Fergus, Lance Corporal Avery, and Troopers Wolland brothers. Keats. Com forth. Mills. Harris. Watkins. Watts and Button—all well-known popular lads. A welcome home will be accorded Private Peter Anderson, recently returned from the Middle East. Bagpipe tunes; will be provided, good dancing music is assured, and with excellent provision of supper and popular prices, the ball should provide a memorable night's entertainment. Tho Pahiatua Municipal Silver Band will he in attendance. and will also provide items on the streets.
