WAX TO WOOD
THE CHANGE IN MATCHES
A youth standing outside the Regent Theatre during the interval last night unconsciously revealed the change from wax matches to wooden ones. ITe accepted a cigarette and sought a wax match with which to light it on his way home. There was not a man present with a wax match and only wooden ones lay on the sidewalk. In Australia and certain cornraising states of the TJ.S.A.. the use of wax matches is illegal. That changeover is one of the few inflicted on New Zealanders without an Order in Council. A slight variation iu price had something to do with it
