ESTIMATED AT OVER £70,000
LYTTELTON FIRE LOSS Electric Telegraph—P;ess Association CHRISTCHURCH, Doc. 26. The losses in the Lyttelton fire are estimated to total over £70,000. The bulk of this is made up by th* destruction of wheat sacks in R hind's wool store, amounting to £50,000. Grain losses totalled £2OOO and the building was insured for £4OOO. Damage to the Mitre and Royal Hotels is estimated at between £SOO and £6OO, and the value of the Lyttelton Hotel building and furniture, which were total losses, is estimated at £SOOO. The loss through the destruction of the three other premises and their c-ontents is about £2OOO.
