LULL ENDS IN TUNISIA
GUARDS ATTACK ENEMY STR ONGPOI NTS. (Received 9.45 a.m.) (British Official Wireless.) RUGBY, Dec. 27. The lull in Northern Tunisia ended on Christmas Eve wlieui guards at sundown attacked' a ridg© held by tlie enemy, six miles north-north-east of Medjez El Bah on the west side of the Terburba road. A series of attacks lasting 14 hours, says a co-respondent at headquarters, were made on. a front of 1260 yards The guards finally took .the high points but. not the highest on tins ridge which holds a position overlooking Medjez and the country to th<> east. Long slopes offer little cover from the trees.
