United Press Assn.—fly Electric Teieiirnori—Couvriitht LONDON. September 23.
“Thailand is but a single step from being involved in war,” said the Bangkok radio today. Thai newspapers regard as ominous the news that the Japanese force's occupying Indo-Cliina are about to hold largescale manoeuvres or. the plains of Cambodia. Under new regulations, Thailand has closed three more frontier districts to foreigners. The “Nichi Nichi Shimbun” says that Thailand must sooner or later side with the Axis, or with its opponents. The paper quotes a Bangkok report that 30.000 British troops, with mechanised equipment, are concentrated on the Malay-Thai border.
