Parkes and (. E \die. ANNUAL REPORT. The following annual report was read and adopted: “The fishing has been good in all our rivers during the season and a great number of limit bags have been taken. The fish, with a few exceptions, have been in good condition, although not quite up to the weight of a fen seasons ing the season we received from the hatchery 115,000 brown frv. which were liberated in the Alakakahi. Manga tain oka. Mangahao and Alakuri rivers. We also received 60 000 rainbow fry, which we allotted to the Alakuri and Alangaliao districts. We are also pleased to - - htai 2000 rainbow yearlings w. L ... “Id in the pond at Mangahao and these were placed in the Alak.r nd Alangahao waters. Early in th- season the members of the sub-commit-tee had a working bee on Air Eddie’s Eddie’s property at Alangahao and built another pond and already from this pond about 6000 rainbow fingerlings have been liberated, and later on from these two ponds (one of which is stocked with brown < w*e hope to have at least 5000 yearlings for liberation. Our thanks * are extended to Air G. Eddie and family for . the time they have spent in feeding these fish and the care and attention they have given these ponds. Seventy pheasants were liberated in various part** of the district and a number of young birds have been reported. Almost any evening one can see numerous ducks on the wing and the Mallards ore reported to have had a successful breeding season. During the dry spell the boys have been attending to the eels and two parties have already accounted for 800. In conclusion. we wish to thank members for their assistance during the year, the Society for the liberal supply of fish and game, the curator of' the hatchery for his help during liberations. Air J. Cleghorn tod Yeoman’s Transport for the cartage of fish cans and all who have assisted in furthering the interests of the licence holders, not forgetting the Press who have always given liberal reports.” The balance-sheet showed a debit balance of 3s.
