MAORI ELECTROCUTED
FOUND LYING ACROSS WIRES. Electric Telegraph—Press Association HAMILTON, February 8. A linesman employed by the Public Works Department was electrocuted at Kuakura this afternoon. The victim was Mr John Turner, aged 33, married, of Pirongia. Mr Turner, who was a Maori, was assisting in alterations to the Ruakura Farm electrical service, the control of which is being transferred from the Public Works Department to the Central Waikato Electric Power Board. He was working at the top of a service pole near the farm offices. Mr A. M. Lee, an agricultural instructor. who was working in a field 25 yards away, noticed Mr Turner lying across the wires, and on investigating found that lie was dead.
