TAITORU WINS FLYING. Electric Telegraph—Pi ess Association HAWERA, Last Night. The first day of the Egmont summer meeting was held in sultry weather before a very large attendance. The track was hard and fast and in splendid order. The totalisator handled £19,732 10s, as compared with £15.378 10s for the first day last year, an increase of £4354. After .the running of the Cup there was an inquiry regarding alleged interference with Lady Furst, but after evidence of several riders was heard by the stewards no action was taken.
