WANGANUI EARTHQUAKE
SECOND WITHIN A WEEK. Electric Telegraph—Press Association WANGANUI, June 20. A short, sharp earthquake of considerable intensity was felt at Wanganui shortly before 1 o’clock today . There was only one shake, which lasted for only a fraction of a second, and it was unrecognised as an earthquake by a number of people, in spite of its severity, lhis is the* second shake felt at Wanganui during the last few days. The earthquake ]eut a touch ot realism to a display at present on view at the Wanganui museum called “Seismology—the Science ol Earthquakes. ’ It is on exchange from the Hawke’s Bav museum and contains iniormation about the origin and extent of earthquakes and a number of excellent pictures # f tbt* Hawke’s Bay earthquake of 1931.
