Princesses Elizabeth and Margaret appeared for the first time publicly in uniform in the quadrangle of Windsor C astle standing stiffly at attention to take the salute of a thousand girl guides as they marched past. Princess Elizabeth as a member of the Kingfisher company wore blue tunic and skirt and Princess Margaret was unilormed as a Brownie member of the Le Pbechaun Patrol.
