Played as a curtain-raiser to the New Zealand trials to-day, a representative women’s hockey match between Akitio and Rnahine proved interesting, though the hockey- was not inspiring. Akitio won by 3 goals to 1. Miss W. Smith ami Mrs McDonald each scored in the* first half and the third score was awarded as a penalty goal for obstruction in a penalty bully. Play brightened somewhat during the second haif in which Mrs Mappett scored for Ruahino.
