BASKETBALL TOURNEY.

ROYERS WIN RUSS ELI. CI P The* tournament lor the Russ 11 Cup held in the Paliiatua Drill Hall last night, attracted entries from the senior clubs of Rovers*. Warntahs, Athletic. Konini and Swifts. Play in the earlv stage** of the tournament was mediocre, but in the concluding games it brightened considerably, tho last match between Konini and Rovers producing some remarkable goal throwing. E Aliller and R. Aston repeatedly making shots from twenty yards out. Some very easy ones were missed however. Th« combination of Joan Stevens. R. Aston and Auro a Jones in the final gam * was oufcstandiiLg and was the main factor in Rovers’ convincing defeat of the redoubtable Konini tear*-.
