WELL ESTABLISHED
The annual report of the North Canterbury Acclimatisation Societyrecords the fact that excellent reports have been received of the success attending the liberation of chilli or in various localities. Quail were well established, and their distribution appeared to be general. Oodwits were fairly numerous in certain areas and in excellent condition. Native birds were holding their own m spite of the heavy toll taken by the grey owl, magpie and other pests.
