His jockey, Keith Voitre, however, suffered a broken left leg below the knee, which will preclude him from riding at the spring meeting. An inquiry was opened hut adjourned to enable Voitre to give evidence. Keith Voitre's father, Mr E. F. Voitre, of Palmerston North, has received a cable from his son who states he is cheery and well and that the break was a clean one below the left knee. NEW ZEALAND HORSES WIN. SYDNEY, September 27. The New Zealand horses. Hands Up and Loud Applause, won decisively the Park Stakes and Grind Handicap at the Hawkesbury meeting on Saturday. Hands Up came from well back to win the Park Stakes over one mile with something in reserve. Odilion, who finished seventh, ran a fair race. Loud Applause scored an all-the-way win m the Hawke's Handicap, in which Queen of Song. One Whetu and Pladie finished in the ruck. Silver Jubilee, who reappeared, after a long spell, naturally monopolised public interest in the Flying Handicap owing to recent good track work. He got away well but was soon in trouble and though, unable to make up lost ground, he finished strongly in seventh place. Golden Chance, who finished second in the Claredon Handicap, came round the field into the straight with a withering late* run and must have won in another 20 yards.
