RECORD BUTTERFAT PRODUCTION.
AUCKLAND S 87,007 TONS. Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND, July 15. Daily production in the Auckland province during the season ended June 30 reached the record total of 87,007 tens of butterfat. This exceeded by about. 2000 tons the previous record of 85.079 tons in tho 1933-34 season. Assuming an average pay-out to suppliers this season of Is a pound for butterfat the total dairy cheque for the Auckland province is about £9,750,000, an. increase of over £2,000,000 on tho previous season when the pay-cut. was less thpn Kkl a. pound. The output of cheese has declined steadily since tho peak of 21,342 tons in 1933-34. due principally to the more favourable returns- on butter exports However, it is apparent that tlic- inr-tense in butter production has fullv compensated for this decline. The higher dairy output. In the province during the 1935-36 season is accounted for by the*, liberal summer rains, whereas a <lry summer was experienced in 1934-35. Extreme weather conditions and floods resulted in a. drop- ir. the output of tho North Auckland factories.
