Speaking in the House of Commons, Mr Alfred Duff Cooper, Secretary for War. said that just over 6400.000 was spent last year on the purchase of Dominion frozen meat for the Army and Air Force at home, and £2OOO on the purchase of fresh meat. The extra cost of supplying home-killed instead of Dominion UK r»t was estimated at about £350,000 a year which, apart from administrative difficulties, was prohibitive as far as the Army funds were concerned .
