State conflict is again coming to the foreground The secret police made another blow at the Catholic Youth Organ tion and arrested Monseignor Volker, the president, and also about 50 other important officials. It is believed the arrests reflect Nazi impatience over the compromise of the Church on the youth question, and is regarded as a step towards suppression of all lay Catholic activity. MUNICH. February 11. The two largest churches in Munich were to hear Cardinal Pa.ilhaber denounce the anti-Catholic tendencies of Nazism and the Ancbristis influence brought to bear on the youthful members by the Nazi party. The sermon was relayed from the church in which the Cardinal preached. and thousands waited to see the Cardinal and the ex-Crown Prince, Rupprecht of Bavaria, arrive. The streets were impassably and isolated individuals attempting. to shout “Hail Hitler’’ were quickly suppressed.
