An opium lamp made from an eggcut). cut-down beer bottle set in a salad bowl, and a quantity of opium in tins formed tlie police exhibits in court this morning, following a raid on a Chinese fruit shop on Saturday afternoon.
\Y ang Kow, occupier of the shop, was fined 1:75 for allowing premises in Ferry Road to be used lor the smoking of opium. Ban Dan, a market gardener, was fined Cl2 10s for smoking opium and £3O for being in possession of prepared opium. Lee Luke, a. market gardener, was fined 112 10s or being found on premises used for the smoking, of opium and £3O for being in possession of prepared opium. Ching King was fined £l2 10s for being found on premises used for the smoking of opi um.
