Mrs A. G. Macl>eth, of Havvera, is a guest of Mrs G. Gardiner, Prin cess Street.

Miss Zona Stevens has joined the telephone exchange staff at the Pahiatua Post Office.

Messrs Roy and Reese Forbes, of Opotiki, are visiting their uncle and aunt, Mr and Mrs W. Dick Julia Street.

Mrs J. D. O. Crewe, of Wakeman Street, returned yesterday from Auckland where site lmd been spending a holiday for the past three weeks.

Mr Colin Arthur Macdonald, subeditor of the Marlborough Express, died yesterday afternoon after a short illness. Ho was horn at Dunedin 47 years ago and was formerly on the staff of the Otago Daily Times and the Pahiatua Herald. He joined the Express: in 1922 a s chief reporter, and was sub-editor from 1933.
