Henry James Crawford, commission agent, Invercargill, pleaded guilty in the Magistrate’s Court this afternoon to using premises at the corner of Fox and Dee streets as a. common gaming house. He was convicted and fined £25. It was his second offence*, said Detective-Sergeant Thomson, who prosecuted. Detectives visited Crawford’s home shortly after noon on Saturday and collected a fair amount of betting material. They also recorded two bets bv telephone while there.
