BOWLING INVASION.

WOODYILEE CLUB S VISIT. The Pahiatua Bowling green presented an animated scene yesterday when the first home and home match was played against the Woodviile club who sent over six rinks to try conclusions with the local men. It had originally been arranged that eight rinks should come from Woodville. but just- at the last it was found impossible to get the full complement away. The conditions were ideal for bowls and all players spent, a most enjoyable day. On the aggregate points. Woodviile were the leaders with 133 to 119—14 being quite a small margin for a six rink game. Detailed results are set out below. Woodviile players being mentioned first in each instance:—

Goth ard. Kenyon. Nelson and MoLaughlin (s) 22. lost, to Gaskill. Ogg, Sedcole and Coldicutt <s) 25. the local players were behind tor the first four heads and with a three and a. six at the two subsequent heads obtained the lead which was maintained with one exception to the last head.

Offwood. Walkin'. Bly and Younj (s) 20. lost to Boss. Goer. hr agan and W. Britland (s) 27. Only twice did Woodviile have a lead in this panic and from the sixth head Bahiatun forged ahead without a setback. T- Troy. J. Arrow (jn.), Norman and Henderson (s) 9. lost to IT. Baker. South, CWford and F. Moore (si 23. After the third head Pahiatua scored consistently and placed on; for an easy win. Sinnerscii. Mo reran. Gothard an 1 McCormack fs) 24. defeated Barrel], Old. Fox and Bawson (s) 16. Tte visitors got a lead of 11 over the first six heads, and altbouph Pahiatua picked up from the. next three or four the Woodviile men scored Well in the remaining heads and finished nine points to the good.

Stevenson. Galbraith. Carter and Curry (s) 22. defeated -J, Harrison. F. Badger. ,T. Boagey and C. Petersen (s) 15. Again Pahiatua made a '' :l( ' start for the first five heads and they were nearly on terms at the tenth, when a had run developed and Woodviile raced away by eleven points, a lead which the local side was unable to reduce.
