REPAIRING THE STAND.
RACING CLUB’S PROBLEM. \\ lieu the stewards of the Pahiatua Racing Club met last night (under the chairmanship of Mr D. Kelly) Mr E. Lett tabled a plan of a proposed replacement for re-erect-ing the roof oi the grandstand, glassed in at one end and painted, the cost of which would be approximately €l6O. The plan proposed to do away with the wooden steps and fill in some 300 yards of soil, which would enable a retaining wall to he put up. an essential point to strengthen the roof. This would run into some £7B, and the total cost of those would be €238.
The whole job could he completed in good time lor- the next meeting said Mr Lett.
On the suggest ion of Messrs. Smith and Harvey. ;i sub committee formed by Mes.-.r.s Kelly. Finney. Lloyd. Britland and Bentley was deputed to go into thi* whole matter and given power to act as it thought lit.
