The New Zealand Universities team defeated AI < iji University in a strenuous struggle by thirteen to eleven . The Meiji backs were exceptionally good, but the New Zealand forwards dominated play in the closing stages. The team was lucky to win, the score being two field goal and a try to three tries. Gillies goaled early and Watt scored a try which was converted by Bush. Tricklebank then goa fed in the closing stages of a n exciting game which wa s attended bv 35. GOO. The team was: Bush, Watt, Tricklebank, Grant, Wild, Gillies, Rea, LaJiey, Burke. Wilson, Chapman, Hiison, Drake, Simmers and Fade. The manager and members of the team will broadcast on February 28, at 7.2 p.m. Japanese time.
