PAHIATUA MAX A PASSENGER
Mr .1. .1. Thompson, ef :. la■ staff of the Corner -Store who lias been in Christchurch for his annual holiday returned home on Monday. He was one of the passengers on the Rangatira when the ferry express struck the rock off YVellingtou Heads on Sunday morning.
When -questioned by a “Herald” man this afternoon Mr Thompson said the passengers were very fortunate that the accident had no disastrous consequences and all were greatly relieved when tin- vessel berthed at Wellington. He brought with him two canaries which are none, the worse for their adventure on the fateful trip.
