BOY MURDERER KILLED.
ATTACK BY FELLOW CONVICT
United Press Assn —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. NEW YORK, January 28.
A message from Joliet, Illinois, states that Loeb, who with Leopold was serving a 99 years' sentence for the murder of Franks, was slashed to death by a fellow convict named James Day, who attacked him with a razor.
Loeb and Leopold murdered Franks in May, 1924, and were sentenced to the penitentiary on September 10 of the same year. In recent years Loeb had been allowed considerable liberty within the prison and with Hay was organising a correspondence school for the use of prisoners at the time of the attack.
