MR. C.J. McKENZIE ILL.
Mr C. J. 'McKenzie, engineer-in-chief ot the Public Works Department and chairman of the Main Highways Board, is ill in hospital in Grevmouth Mr McKenzie became ill at Wcheka, South Westland, on Tuesday, while touring with the Minister of Public nrks, Hon. it. Semple, and the Minister of Mines, Hon. P. C. Webb. He was taken to Hokitika by aeroplane, accompanied by Mr F: T. M. Kissel, chief electrical engineer of the department, and on arrival there Mr McKenzie was stated to be better. Later he Was admitted to a private hospital in Greymouth and while he was there his condition became more serious. He was reported later to be much improved.
