MORE DROWNINGS.
Electric Telegraph—Press Association AUCKLAND. Last, Night. Lean James, aged six, son of a well-known settler at Poliak, near Waiuku, wa s drowned while bathing in the Manukau harbour at Polick this afternoon. With his younger brother he v. a« bathing in shallow water near the shore, when both boys suddenly found themselves beyond their depth in the channel. The younger boy was rescued by people on the beach who saw that the two were in difficulties, but Lean disappeared. The body was recovered later. NELSON. Last Night. Robert Williams, aged 23, was drowned while bathing at the Maori pa. yesterday. He attempted to swim across the channel at full tide and found the distance greater than he had anticipated.
