KEEPING PEACE IN DANZIG. FOREIGN MINISTER'S FIRAI ATTITUDE. United Press Assn —By Electric Telegraph—Copyright. GENEVA, January 24. AIl Anthony Eden, Foreign Secretary, announcing the Danzig Settlement, which the Government lias already implemented, said: “I trust that to-day marks a new era wherein the Senate will fully co-operate with the League Council in the exercise of the guarantee.” Air Bruce gravely addressed Herr Greiser, saying he was sure he realised the Council's aims and attitude. He sincerely trusted that his undertakings would be carried out. LONDON, January 25.
“Another triumph for Eden,” says Ihe News-Chronicle and other 73a--7>ers discussing the settlement of the Danzig dispute. “Dangerous Mr Eden,” says the* Daily Alail, which daily condemns his attitude* regarding the dispute between Italy and Abyssinia. The Alail expresses the opinion that Air Eden is leading Britain into a conflict in Mediterranean.
The News-Chronicle, on the contrary. answers: “There could be no better reply to the parrot talk about ‘Dangerous Air Eden.’ Twice lie played a bold part in saving the threatened pence of Europe. Now he lias done it a third time. He firmly and boldly faced the Danzig question ceasing to exist as a threat to Europe’s peace.”
