EKETAHUNA MAN’S DEATH.
COLLAPSES IN LOCAL SURGERY
It is not often that doctors have patients dying in their surgeries but yesterday afternoon Dr. E. B. Watson, of Pahiatua, had this most unfortuna tc « x j >er icnee.
An Eketahuna. resident named 11. J. Doherty, aged 54 an architect, who had been suffering from heart trouble for some years, had been driven to the surgery by taxi, and on entering the consulting room took a seat.
Dr. Watson was conversing with the latter when suddenly his face became convulsed and he told the Doctor that; he was experiencing pains. Then as he finished speaking, the patient collapsed and died. It transpired that deceased had been under medical attention for some years for heart trouble, and had been refused life insurance cover for this reason by several companies. Accordingly no- inquest will be necessary as the doctor was able to furnish a certificate of death.
